The second server fetches its copy; the first holds no key to it. So if one provider loses a server, or somebody breaks into one, the copy on the other is still there. Lock them with encryption if you like; you keep a copy of the key.
Every server shows exactly which backups it holds and when each one goes. Restoring puts it back on the right machine, after a code from your phone.

Fleet checks the new server first, builds the copy while the old one keeps serving, and lets you look at the copy at its real address, in your browser only, before anyone else is switched. The site pauses for seconds while the last changes are copied. Not zero, and we will not pretend otherwise.

What if you disappear?
Your servers are rented on your own accounts, and your sites run on them, not on us. If Fleet went away tomorrow your websites, databases and email would keep running. You would lose the watching, the nightly backups and the buttons, not the businesses.
Can you get into my servers?
Fleet asks your servers for named jobs, not commands. A terminal on a server only opens when you open it, with a code from your authenticator app, and it closes itself. Every command in it is written down.
One of my sites is on shared hosting.
Fleet runs on servers you control, so a site on shared hosting moves onto one of them. That is part of setup: we bring it across with you and check it before anything is switched.
Do I have to move my email?
No. Fleet can run email for a domain on your own mail server, with the records written for you, but it is optional. Plenty of people keep the email they have and use Fleet for everything else. Either way, the free email check on this site shows whether yours is set up right.
Does it do WordPress?
Yes, with its database, backed up every night and movable to another server like anything else.
Who do I talk to when something is wrong?
A person. From inside Fleet or by email, and it is somebody who knows how your fleet is set up.
